Kyle debated at West Des Moines Valley for 6 years and qualified to TOC his senior year. After this, he went on to help restart the Iowa City West High LD team. Within 5 years, he coached multiple bids, state champions, and national qualifiers. Kyle's students have reached elimination rounds of major national circuit tournaments, including TOC elimination rounds twice. As a debater, Kyle primarily read Ks, but he coached more theory and philosophy. Kyle graduated from the University of Iowa in 2022 and now attends the University of Iowa College of Law. Outside of debate, Kyle enjoys watching Minnesota Vikings Football. This will be his third summer teaching at NSD.
