Grant Goering debated at Norman North High School in Norman, OK. In his career, he accumulated 8 gold and silver bids in addition to an autoqual to the TOC and NSDA Nationals, becoming the first Public Forum debater from Oklahoma to achieve either feat. Most notably, he placed 11th at NSDA Nationals and earned a speaking award at TOC. Additionally, Grant has reached late elimination rounds at Princeton, Sunvite, UT Austin, Grapevine, and more, receiving 4 speaker awards along the way. Locally, he reached state finals in Public Forum and USX every year it was not the same weekend as TOC, and was the NSDA District Champion of House Congressional Debate and Public Forum every year he attended. Grant has also been a Camp Director/Instructor for Outreach Debate twice and his students have gone on to amass 9 bids to the TOC. Because of his background in traditional debate and speech events, Grant specializes in instruction on rhetoric and lay appeal while also having a deep understanding of technical debate. Grant was a student at Delta Debate three years ago and is excited to return as an instructor!
