Grant Brown debated in Lincoln Douglas for Millard North High School in Omaha, Nebraska. He was an assistant coach at Lake Highland as well as the head coach at the Brearley School and has coached numerous students to elimination rounds of national tournaments and the Tournament of Champions. He is currently a PhD student in Philosophy at Villanova University.
