Chris has been the head Lincoln-Douglas (LD) Debate Coach at Strake Jesuit College Prep in Houston, TX for over 10 years. He has coached the champions of Greenhill, Loyola, Blue Key, Grapevine, UT Austin, University of Houston, Peninsula, Golden Desert, Scarsdale, St. Mark's, Lexington, CPS, Victory Briefs (now Harvard-Westlake), Berkeley, and the Tournament of Champions. His students closed out (finished 1st + 2nd) the 2021 Texas Forensics Association State Tournament. He has coached students to the final rounds of the Barkley Forum, Harvard, Bronx, Valley and Yale tournaments. His debaters have won the Greenhill, Lake Highland Prep, Bronx, Sunvite, Harrison, LA Challenge (Harvard Westlake), and TDC round robins. His students have won the Dukes and Bailey Cup twice. Chris has coached top speakers at Greenhill, St. Mark's, TFA State, Stanford, Harvard, Glenbrooks, the Tournament of Champions, and many more.
Chris has worked for 18 years as a coach, judge, tabroom director, and institute director. He is currently a member of the National Speech and Debate Association LD topic wording committee. A staple of the community and a common sight at nearly every major national tournament, Chris was awarded the Bronx Achievement Award for his contributions to the debate community.
