Keerthi Chalamalasetty has competed in policy debate for Coppell High School and now competes for the University of Texas at Austin. In high school, she was the Treasurer and Co-Captain of Policy Debate for her 300+ debate team. At UT Austin, she serves as the secretary of the collegiate policy debate team. Over her high school debate career, she has reached elimination rounds at Greenhill, Berkeley, Stanford, Heritage Hall, TOC Speech and Debate Series #1, UIL Cross-Examination State Conference, Colleyville, Bingham, Delores Taylor Arthur, and the South Central Great Communicator Debate Series. Most notably, she was awarded the Golden Gavel award at the UIL Cross-Examination State Conference by receiving perfect speaker points in all preliminary rounds. At UT Austin, she has won the Mid-American championship, broke at the Texas tournament, reached the semifinals of the Houston tournament, and reached the finals of the Kansas tournament. She has previously worked with many students at the Coppell Debate Academy, taught at the Mean Green Comet Debate Institutes, and at NSD last summer in various debate events. She is very excited to teach at NSD again this summer!
